MagicWrap

The issue with running under Snow Leopard has been resolved. The 10.5+ version below works on 10.5 and 10.6.

This is a tool for OS X Terminal users who are frustrated by the lack of useful information in the Terminal window title and tab labels. In short, you configure a list of programs to wrap and specify how the title (and window settings) should be set for each program.

For example, I have ssh wrapped so that it shows the first parameter which is normally the host I'm logging into as the tab title. I also have it switch to another window setting so I know I'm on a remote box and clear the screen.

You will need to be an administrator to use the installer, and it can be configured for all users or just select ones. Further instructions are in the installer.

Download MagicWrap.pkg for OS X 10.5+

Download MagicWrap for OS X 10.3-10.4 Note that under earler versions of the OS, the readme will not be displayed during installation, and some errors will occur during operation, but overall function should be preserved.

If you missed it during installation, the Read Me is available. For access to the source code, see the sourceforge.net repository. If you have any questions or comments, contact magicwrap@swiftweb.com.
